The Top Releases of April 2021[]

April Remastered

With each new month of Top Releases, players celebrate the arrival of brand new games alongside the latest installments of their favorite franchises. But April demonstrated another type of demand from players, with remastered classics capturing a big share of the Top Release chart. About a third of games this month are complete remasters or re-imaginings of games that have been popular with players for years, and in some cases decades. For those of us who are returning to these classics, added content, visuals, and support for modern hardware make the nostalgic journeys that much more enjoyable. And for new players looking to experience these games for the very first time, there is no need to dust off old consoles or search for compatibility patches in the forums. Make sure to check out all of these classics on April’s Top Releases.

Role-Playing Releases

RPGs have been popular on Steam from the very beginning, giving players control of countless heroes across a wide variety of epic stories and game designs. It's no surprise that nearly half of April's Top Releases feature a heavy dose of RPG themes and mechanics. From the stunning visuals and effects in OUTRIDERS and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... to the roguelite replayability of Legend of Keepers and Trials of Fire, April's RPGs offer a wide variety of mechanics, themes and stories for anyone who is ready for an adventure. TaleSpire takes the RPG theme full circle this month, by fully digitizing the tabletop role-playing experience that has inspired so many games throughout the years.

New To Steam
As we've done with past months, we'd also like to welcome the development teams who are bringing a product to Steam for the very first time. A big congrats go out to these development teams on their successful Steam debuts.
